Cleaning mane tips

What’s the best way to get dirt out of the roots of a mane? Need to plait on Saturday, but when I part the mane it looks so dirty. Do I wash it? – bit cold to wash mane and harder to plait? Brush it like mad? Plait and try and hide the dirt? if so, how? Help/advice/ tips gratefully received!!!

You have a mane ? At this time of year ?? You are so lucky !!! Mine has given up and fallen out - thanks to the winter rugs with necks !!!

My old chap looks like a man with a very bad comb over !!!

Anyone know how to stop a mane falling out ?? Or alternatively does anyone have any mane pulling left-overs they can post me to use as extensions !!

Wash it out with warm water and shampoo, don't get him soaked to much, then rinse through with meths (diluted) this will cut through the grease and will help to dry very quickly.

Give him a rub down with a towel after, it won't be to cold for him
