Hi everyone!

We got our pony a couple of weeks ago, and we're all settling in really well (yaay!)

The one thing I'm having trouble with his cleaning his face :)

Somehow, he manages to stay immaculate - except for his face. I've tried brushing his face with a soft body brush, wiping it with a damp sponge, even using a baby wipe - and the dirt just won't budge.

Any tips/suggestions would be much appreciated!

Thank you so much :)

Sorry my great suggestion was baby wipes! You can get stain remover but I wouldn't use it on a face. Is he using his poo as a pillow?

Hehe Meesha!

I have tried baby wipes, but they don't seem to budge the stains. Unless maybe I'm not giving it enough welly? ;)

He probably is using poo as a pillow lol! The stains seem to come from the field. He's a little 11'2 pony in a field of hunter horses, so I imagine they're prob brushing up against him x

I just use a blob of shampoo, rub in, then rinse off. I find the trick with poo on greys is to do it every day so it never becomes stained in.

No, my horse did not like it, but he could always have stopped using his poo as a warm pillow!

Go online and buy yourself a box of Reckitt's Blue. Then crumble half a block into a bucket of hot water (hot enough to not burn, but as hot as you can). When it's dissolved dunk a sponge in it and wipe that over the stains. You have to wipe hard, and keep dunking to keep the sponge clean, but it's a miracle product.

I learnt it from a groom who had nine greys hunting each Saturday, and have used it ever since. Also fab as a last rinse when they've had a bath. AmaIng stuff!!
