My poor mare's stuck indoors with a particularly nasty abscess and hasn't even seen grass for about 3 days.

So I'm walking round during my lunch break and saw loads and loads of cleavers just waiting to be picked for this poor horse, who will have your hand off for a mouthful. I hadn't got a bag with me, and in any case they'd probably have wilted by the time I got to the yard, but I'm definitely going to pick her a huge bagful after work next week (my bad - completely forgot when I left this afternoon).

Meanwhile, I got soaked picking her some from the hedges at the yard tonight. Hope she appreciates it, but I doubt it!

Does anyone have any tips on how to dry some out ready for winter?

I turn my oven on to about 160, let it get up to temperature then turn it off. Pop them in on a baking sheet and put them in the oven until it is cold. Easy peasy if you do it at night :)
