my cobs clefts are very deep. He is 3 years old. They didnt used to be like this, seem to have gone quite deep recently. There doesnt appear to be anything wrong as in no discharge or smell. Is there anything wrong? Farrier is due in 3 weeks .

The cleft can become deep with and without thrush. Often it is a sign of the back of the hoof contracting ie. heels moving closer together squishing the frog.
Poke gently into the cleft to check for any soreness or gunge.
