My pony is allergic to cleg bites and her face swells when she has been bitten by them on her face, what is the best solution to help stop the swelling. (she lives out in the summer)
our filly foal has had a bad reaction to one in front of her teats and is quite swollen. Vet has advised cold compress and we are using udder cream with antibiotics in which the vet has ok'd. We have kept her in for a couple of days but will be putting plenty spray on when she goes out tomorrow.
The clegs are horrendous this year and Ive had some pretty sore bites that are still raised and itchy a week later, a few of our ponies have had sore bites but seen a difference since using Phaser Power spray
I'd bring her inside through the day. Clegs usually are at their worst for two or three weeks in July, and after that they don't seem quite so ravenous. I haven't yet found anything that works perfectly- neem oil is the best I've found and I think I've tried everything!
