got there bang on time, everything was running smoothly. was absalutely boiling, ground was as hard as concrete and very rough too. Walked the course and it was extreamly short- 15 fences

but they where quite full up and it was a nice course. Anyway, got onto the dressage and oh dear, the arenas where the worst i have EVER seen! was on such a slope and soo rough, and tara really didnt like it- i wasnt able to trot all around the arena so we went in and tara was looking all over the place, was the worst she has ever been- shame, she warmed up lovely. then i went wrong

i was cursing myself! so was extreamly annoyed when i came out of dressage, but wasn't too disheartened.
got onto showjumping fairly quickly after dressage- the arena, again, was horrible- exreamly hilly! however she was jumping like a stag so went in and she flew round- best she has ever jumped i think, met everything perfect and went reasonably fast, so got a clear with no time penalties (they where having quite a few time faults!
So that put me in a better mood for the xcountry. She warmed up nicely again and set off much better than the fun day we went to, jumped the first nicely, then the second was a pretty big hedge and she took off abit too far but made it over- flew round the rest of it, absalutely loved every minute of it. she was a little bit strong but she jumped alot better than last time we took her xcountry.
So we went round clear, which i was extreamly happy with! Got off, washed her down and went to see the results. our dressage wasnt as bad as i thought! we wheren't last anyway

and there where soo many time faults and penalties, both xcountry and sj, so even with a rubbish dressage test we where lying 3rd when we left (they only had just over half the results down though!), but we didnt stay as had to get back.
So yeah im very pleased, i think she has a brilliant prospect for the future- she made nothing of that height, she "skipped" round it, so i deffinately think we will be ok doing BE in the autumn. i cant wait to get our dressage ironed out, she will be fab- she loves her work!

didnt take any pics, the pros will be on the website tomorrow so will post them tomorrow

thanks- hopefully next time i will remember the test! have 2 dressage lessons before my next ODE (2 weeks), and will hopefully have a dressage saddle by then, so hoping things will be abit more successful on the dressage front.

we asked the organisers, and their intro course is smaller than the one today and their pre novice isnt too much bigger (she showed us some of the jumps in PN and they where very do-able!), so am hoping to do a few BE on a ticket in autumn

well done - sounds like my day there last time- i forgot my test too, and mine also jumped best hes done in a while...its a bit of a shoddy set up, but its a lovely little event to get going at, confidence boosted big time isnt it?! def go for the BE event!good target!

yeah it really did boost my confidence- the course apparently (according to the commentator!) was pretty much the same as the one in march- she flew the ditchy one you showed me the pic of
