I have a wonderful CB/Eng TB cross mare, who was imported to the U.S. in '04. She is named Carolina Knock Out and had a successful eventing career in the UK before she came here (I'm in Louisiana). Everybody who sees her go falls in love with her - we event and ride dressage. She has won numerous awards locally, regionally and nationally and, although I know a little about her dam (Carolina Jetstream), I know nothing about her sire (Honour's Degree). My mare has a wonderful outlook, great gaits, strong work ethic, superb athleticism and a kind, soft eye. We're thinking about breeding her but would like to know something about her sire. Does anybody know anything about Honour's Degree? Did he race on the flat, hurdles, steeplechase, etc. We want to get the right "mix" so anything anybody can tell us would be super. Sorry if I put this request in the wrong place but I'm hoping somebody has some information that can fill in the blanks. Thanks in advance for your replies.

P.S. I cross posted in the New Lounge as well. I'm new here and am not too sure about the proper protocol.

Hi
I found this about him. He is still standing in Wales

Sire : Balliol Dam : Cheb’s Honour by Cheb's Lad

A quality stallion combining a huge athletic jump with lovely paces. Perfect temperament, produces all-round competition horses that are in demand by today’s rider. Sire of Carolina Knockout winner of Novice Restricted Dressage Title Horse and Hound winter Dressage Championships 2002.He ran 14 times proving to be tough and strong, and retired sound. He is a full brother to the Group Winner Singing Steven.

I imagine being a Carolina horse she will be bred by Mrs D C Hardman, Shropshire. The address should be in her passport.

Carolina Jetstream was foaled 1990 and is by Storth House Temptation CB2054 out of Carolina Rain CB1916.

Hope this is of interest, only took a couple of minutes as I have the CB Millenium stud book.

Photos please! I do hope you are going to put her to a CB stallion so you can have a nice 3/4 bred!

Thanks all for the information. It is really fun to find out about my mare's heritage. If I can figure out how to post a picture I will. Can one of you tell me what level novice restricted dressage is (we go by training, 1st, 2d, 3d, 4th, PSG, Int 1, Int 2, and Grand Prix here)? I show her at 3d level schooling 4th (she was the USDF All Breed winner last year at 3d level) and event her at our training heading for our preliminary (one * without roads and tracks). I have a day job and only get to ride her on weekends so I am the one holding her back (my wife rides her the other days of the week - bless her heart). Thanks again for the help.
