It sounds like there was chocolate wrapper at the gate? I'm surprised chocolate would kill a horse. I wonder what makes them think it was being fed.

Sad loss of an important mare and foal, whatever happened.

2nd time in 3 years, I wonder if they should get a soil check. I hope they get a post mortem.

Very sad for them, but I can't see why they should think that was because anyone fed her anything? These things happen. It looked like she dropped on the spot, more likely to be a heart attack I would have thought.

I would expect that an unexpected/unexplained death in such an important animal would lead to a post mortem. I assumed when I first heard about it that a pm had been done and the cod identified. We have endless trouble with walkers feeding horses round here and at least 1 horse has died because of it.
