Are our American friends putting us to shame? A CB hunt in Virginia/Maryland is becoming an annual event. All the participants are encouraged to ride a pure or part bred Cleveland Bay. Thirty years ago CB yearlings fetched top prices at the HIS sales.

This picture comes courtesy of Marcia Brody who orangised the first hunt, another photo will follow, and she is currently organising the 2012 hunt. I have enclose her caption.

A record number of Cleveland Bays gather for the inaugural Cleveland Bay Hunt, hosted by the New Market - Middletown Valley Hounds in Frederick County, Maryland, 2009. Concidentally, the first Cleveland Bay ever imported into America came to Frederick County, Maryland in 1820. Photo courtesy www.LizCallar.com. This is an annual event organized by Mid-Atlantic Cleveland Bay enthusiasts. More information is available from midatlantic.cb@gmail.com.

I am a bit far away - bit of water in between but would love to see a hunt in the UK like that.

Having trouble loading onto photobucket but also have a pic of the second CB hunt with bakcdrop of lovely Plantation House.

Watch this space.

Sunday 9th September is Ride a (Cleveland) Bay Day. Details on CBHS website tomorrow.

Can we organise a CB hunt in the UK?

A lovely picture! I used to have a Cleveland bay - probably a cross - many years ago. A more obstinate devil out hunting it would be impossible to imagine! But a lovely chap nevertheless!
