Cleveland Bay X Thoroughbreds?

There are quite a few doing extremely well in all competitive spheres nationally and internationally :)
 
They tend to have the strength, calmness and sensible attitude of the CB with the stamina of the TB.

I have a pure CB who is starting to proove that he can turn his hooves to anything :)
 
I had one which was related to queens CB`s and she was great took me through pony club, hunted, evented etc but we lost her to colic unfortn.
 
I own a cb x i dont know what shes crossed with, a lot of people have had a guess but still not 100%. She is a fantastic mare one which ill never be able to replace, shes 17 and still going strong :) love her to bits!!

what do you think? (i have bought the image of her jumping the copy right would be right across the image if not)

I have one! She is highly intelligent, a strong character, loves food, attention and going out and about. She is 24 now but never acts her age, and in her younger days was an amazing jumper. She is my horse of a lifetime.
 
I have one he 36 yrs old!!! He is retired now but when i used to ride him he was amazing jump anything it was a case of just pointing at the jump and go! He was very fast, bit nutty too he was an ex trotter and then went on to be a show jumper (his previous owner showed me photos of him winning the Hickstead Derby). I have only had him ten years but he has been the best horse i have ever know, so kind and gentle in the stable but a different horse on the field.
 
Very athletic... fast with excellent jump.. highly intelligent and big characters.. not push button horses .. you have to develop a mutual respect / trust thing ;) Mine is horse of a lifetime.. I have the feeling that there is nothing she couldn't turn her hoof to:)
 
I had one years ago, beautiful horse, 17.1 with 10.25" bone, jump the moon and would have been a show hunter in today's market. Did have a stroppy side which took some sorting but boy he was handsome!
 
Hi, I,m on my 3rd had to do a lot of traveling to find this one wouldn't have anything else. Can I ask why the question.
 
My mum had a Cleveland Bay X TB called Derry Lin, she was amazing! She hunted, showed, hacked - and I used to show her in Working Hunter classes when I was younger ( about 12/13 yrs old!), and show jump her. She had a great attitude, was very kind and great to handle.

I'd love another CB cross, they seem a great sort!
 
I have 2! An 8 year old mare she is cb x tb and I bred a cracking colt this year but tb x cb, both have brilliant temperaments, my mare is super brave and careful,I've yet to find anything that fazes her. My colt is 5 months and he is a complete star, not found anything that fazes him either. I don't think I'd have anything else :)
 
I have a CB x cob and she is fantastic - one of the best horses I have ever owned. She's kind, honest and very soppy. Lovely paces, very patient but also has a mind of her own and left to her own devices would only ever do thing in "her time" which is not always my time! That said she understands who's who in the pecking order and it isn't a problem.

She's very inquisitive. If we go anywhere new she has to have a good look around at everyone and everything - almost to the point of her being nosey.

In the field she's definitely the head of the herd and all the others respect her (they never mess with her lol!) yet she looks after the little Shetland as if she was her own.

She's 16.2 hh at at under 5'2" she's really a little large for me but the size doesn't make any difference to her. She just looks after me wherever we go. I love her to bits. :)
 
I had a CB x unsure with what but what an amazing boy he was truely my horse of a lifetime that can NEVER be replaced, typical CB attitude to him stubborn, loyal careful bold jumper, highly intelligent loving an absolute darling but had to gain his trust in the beginning but we had a bond that no one could come between we were the best of friends who understood each other.

CB x's or pure breds are really exceptional horses I'd have loved to have another but it would only seem like I was trying to replace my lad.
 
We had one.......Emma a bay with a silver mane and tail.
I part exchanged her for a very calm TB, from a very nice lady, who told me she wanted a quieter life.... Emma was bonkers, she would never walk, and would always jog - hunting she was electric. I gave her to my 14 year old son to ride. He did PC on her, and it was totally bonkers - she would jump anything, when in the mood, but would bounce doubles all the time. She gave many a PC Instuctor heart palpitations. At a H/T I heard a terrible crack (almost like a lightning bolt) as she tried to take a three step up fence in one - she almost made it, but caught her hoof on the edge of the last step, she actually took a chip out of her hoof, but horse and rider stayed in intact, and I think they were placed!
She eventually went totally insane, and had days when she refused to start a competition - and would just plant herself. We had every expert under the sun, advising, but no one could resolve her issues. (she was in excess of 12 years when we had her)
We sold her on, and she continued to be electric on some days, jumping literally anything, and refusing to even start on other days......
She was a nightmare, but she taught my son loads, in respect of sitting very quietly and letting this mad mare go, on her going days - he bacame a reasonable point-to-point jockey purely from what he had learnt from this mad mare!
I went ahead and bought a CBX youngster, and that was bonkers too - the toughest horse to break of anything we had broken to date (and that was lots of horses) so we called it a day on that breed!

I've got a TB x CB - sadly he has had to go into early retirement at 16 due to joint problems, but in the 10 years I've had him, he has taught me loads and taken me to a showing level I never thought my Ad Mag bargain buy would! Yes he is a bit nuts, and does occasionally do its his way or no way (some people thought I was bonkers to sit on him on him these days!) but he is my horse of a lifetime, affectionate to those he trusts and I wouldn't change him in anyway.
 
hi, i have 2 although the mare is CB X anglo arab does she count shes 20 years young and still going strong. Harvey is we think CB X TB but cant be sure as he has no papers he was sold at derby horse sales in 2003 as a cb cross he is a lovely boy on the 23rd im picking up 2 trophies at are local riding club dinner thanks to Harvey
if anyone has any information regards HARVEY please get in touch i would love to know his history if what i already know is true he will be 15 next year but the fact is i dont know whats true and whats not his real name might not even be Harvey
