Clicking in hind leg

I have a 6 year old mare and over the past couple of months I noticed her near hind leg clicks everytime I ride her, in all gaits! She's not lame, but when I ride her in canter, on the left rein, she goes disunited every time I ask her back to trot! She also rests the leg quite a lot. I have had a nightmare with her saddle not fitting and being very uneven - the physio checked her over and said she had a lot of back pain caused from the saddle on her nearside, and he thinks it could be linked and to keep checking her over - but it has only improved very slightly and is still clicking all the time.
Has anyone experienced with their own horse, or know of anyone who has? I am now looking to take her to my vet for x-rays... Do you think I'm looking too far into things?
Any comments please - many thanks in advance

My 8 yr old eventer has clicky back legs! I have clicky knees and feel quite happy about it! It's just the noise of air in the joints. I use a joint supplement for horse, and until she goes lame or shows signs of discomfort (she has regular physio checks thro out the season), I am going to leave well alone. I'm afraid I have learnt the hard way, that if you involve the vet for issues like these you can open up a very unpleasant can of worms.............

My 11-year old mare has a clicky stifle and has done since I bought her (age 7) and has not had any problems with it. Like the reply above, most of my joints click (some days I sound like a bag of bones getting up in the morning!), but it is just the noise of the tissues in joints moving over eachother. If there is no associated lameness, stiffness or pain then I wouldn't worry!

i am glad you guys have replied with positive things- my 5yo has a clicky near hind and hes not lame or sore just noisy!!! i have been on another forum and was told abruptly it was my fault and i should of had him x rayed at vetting and then he should be on a heavy duty joint supp- my instructor said he may grow out of it, the vet never mentioned it when he saw him last and all my other horsey friends have said its air. Until he has an issue i am not getting hte vet out ( incase he finds somthing to really worry about)

My 20 year old semi retired eventer/hunter has had 'clicky' hind fetlocks ever since I have owned her as a 6yo. never had a days lameness with her and it has never changed in all those years - she now has a 15 week old foal at foot and pings around the field with him like a two year old( still clicking) xx
