Just wondering if anyone had any ideas about this.

I own a 16.2hh IDX who was used for hunting before I bought him. He knows leads a very easy life. He has had this summer off for various reasons including recovering from a nasty leg injury and recently disgnosed flat pedal bones and the beginning of calcification of the collateral ligaments. This was in the front legs.

I have noticed for the past month, that in his rear leg (left side) when he walks/trots, there is a clicking sound from his joint (not sure which). It is only in one leg and he doesn't track up as well with that leg, however he isnt lame.

I am going to get the vet out but was wondering if you had any exprerience o something similar.

Thanks in advance,

Jen

my mare can get a bit clicky in her hocks. she's not bothered by it and is perfectly sound. i put her on superflex joint supplement a few months ago as she's now 19 and is in hard work doing dressage and showing.
i also spend about 15 to 20 mins warming her up in the school in walk making her stretch out and do some lateral work to get her supple. she is definitely less clicky when she has been in consistant work
