I have noticed that in the least 6 months or so my yellow man's knees and hocks click when he picks them up for me to pick out, and occasionally when he walks off after standing for a while. I know I do this, my knees, elbows and fingers always click! But he is a heavy boy and I'm worried he may be showing early signs of what could become arthritis? Does anyone else have any experiance of this? Is there any supplement I should start giving him to help this? Any answers would be very appreciated! :)

How old is he??? My mare's joints used to click when she was young, but now she is older and in regular work its not a problem.

Oh course it could be early arthritis who knows, so it might be a precaution to feed a supplement and if he is fit and kept fit and kept at an ideal weight then he is likely to have less joint problems.

But I shouldn't worry too much, enjoy him, and next time vet comes have a chat.

Thanks for your replies :) I'm glad I didn't get jumped on and told he'd have to be retired or anything awful like that!! He's 10 years old, almost 11 but I never noticed it when he was younger... I shall have a look at those links and hopefully it won't turn into anything sinsister! Thanks again :)
