hi
thought would post this on here instead of vet as more people read this!!
friend has a 6 year old connieXTB who she purchased in November-passed a full 5* vetting etc. On good friday we were cantering a bridletrack and the winter has exposed a drain cover, he jumped it front feet but hit it with back feet, seemed to slip and then went hopping lame. Still lame 20 mins later and went back got lorry and transported him home. Vet came and pronounced him 1/10th lame on hind leg but should be ok after 5 days rest and bute. He now seems fine and has been working fully etc including fun ride last weekend. However what we notice now is that his back legs seem to "click" very noticibly..never noticed this before the accident. Today he came in off the field with back shoe off and is lame behind, especially on a circle. Now this could be the shoe but friend is stressed about the "clicking"..I think she will get the vet out once shoe back on but anyone have thoughts on this..neither of us can remember if this noise was around before, infact Im sure we would have noticed it and there is no mention on the vetting etc...being paranoid or worth investigating is the question....

Hello, I once had a Nefie who clicked badly. Asked the vet and he said "not a problem" Its not a sign that theres anything wrong . He may have been right cos she went on into her late 20s and was a fast, loony, who jumped very well.
Hope this puts your mind at rest.

My first pony had a clicking stifle, didn't cause any problems. I fed a few joint supplements to see if it would help, the only one which reduced the sound of the clicking was glucosamine 2000 by gold label.
