Morning all, i was wondering if any of you have had or have a horse with clicky joints, my mare seems to have a clicky joint in her back leg think its comes from her hock when i ride her in the school (doesn't seem to thappen out hacking) not making her lame or anything like that but i was wondering if you have found anything that has stopped it or made it better?
Shes on cod liver oil now........

Thank you!!!

Hannah has clicky hocks... she has always had them (since I bought her as a 4/5 year old, and with a 5 stage vetting). She is on Cortaflex, but I wouldn't say they click less, just never got any worse I suppose. It does not affect her way of going, and she is not stiff in them at all.

thanks, just wanted reasurance that me not being to worried about it was a problem, i will put her on a joint sup see what happens but thats great thank you!!!

Hello
My horse too has the same problem and is on cortaflex which now makes the clicking intermitant , he has been checked over by two vets and the say he is fine and it is not causing him pain and keep giving him the cotaflex .

Interesting - my horse has just been diagnosed with arthritis in 3 legs and have started noticing clicky noises in the hocks. Then again I have a clicky ankle since I wrecked it in an accident and my physio reckons clicky noises are just "one of those things" and not a sign of anything at all.

Lance is very clicky, just age as he is almost 19, but there has def been an improvement since i put him on glucosamine

My 4 year old mare clicks - no amount of cortaflex or anything makes any difference, but she is as sound as a pound!! I have had two vets check her out and they are not at all concerned.
