Hiya my horse needs his teeth done and i saw cliffe vets in lewes, east sussex are doing a fixed price package for dental work.
£75.00 This includes:
Visit
Full Oral examination
Sedation
Heart check for sedation
Rasping
Bit seating
removal of hooks waves
Dental charting
I thought this looks good, but friends say i shouldnt get vets to do teeth?
Anyone used them and were u pleased??

I'd personally never get my vets to do my horses teeth. EDT are trained and specialised for a reason and in my opinion are by far the best people for the job. I use an EDT who did my horses for a fixed price of £40 per horse. He did not use sedation as it was not necessary.
Sorry though I've never used the vets you mention.

Yes thats what my friends have said! He needs some minor power work done so the sedation included in the package was appealing. for normal rasping etc i pay £ 35 but will be spending over £120 pounds on vet and dentist coming out.

As far as I am aware there are 2 vets at Cliffe that do dental work and both are qualified EDT's as well as vets. I think you will find that they only use sedation if needed and not for everything.

Best thing to do is call them and check.

another vote for Cliffe-used to know them, albeit a while ago. very good practice for SA and equine
