I got a rude awakening at 8am this morning. Ok, I was actually awake and playing Angry Birds on my ipod (how adictive is that game!) but you get the jist.

Someone had found a shetland pony in the churchyard, knocked on friends door to ask if it was hers and she rang me. I checked the field when we got back. All the post and rail we had put in a few weeks ago was intact. The only way he could have got out was over the muck heap.........

It looks as if he had climbed the muck heap and pushed through the hawthorn hedge that is behind the muck heap.

Little darling............. !!!

OH is not happy as he now has a job this afternoon putting removable rails accross the front of the muck heap to stop BH escaping again :D

What I don't get is why they do it? There is a ploughed field on the other side so it's not as if there is anything to eat. Do they do it for the challenge? He was very snuggly and loving when he saw me, I think he was rather glad to get home!

Why does my welsh a feel the need to jump 4ft fences? :p

Its a little pony thing, they feel they have to prove they can do everything big horses can do ;)

Mrs M, they are the softest, most affectionate ponies ever, never cross or bad tempered and just adorable........until they display typical Shetland escape tendencies!

Luckily we live in quite a small village so they won't get far without someone knowing who to return them to!

I was actually thinking of leaving their headcollars on with a dog tag with my number on it!
