My black horse is very lethargic in warm weather and reluctant to do any work. I'm wondering whether to clip him to see if it'll make him a bit more comfortable, as he's still not lost all of his winter coat (last clip was January).
The problem is I was hoping to do some local shows this summer but with him being a Dales, he's meant to be 'au naturel'. He'll probably not do amazingly well in M+M classes anyway because he's overheight (he's also unregistered which limits the M+M classes we can enter anyway), but we were hoping to do several WH classes. I know he's still meant to be shown in a natural state in WH classes with being a native, but would we get vastly marked down for being clipped?
