Clipped horse

I clipped my TB gelding about 3-4 weeks ago now. At the time there was a few clip lines but these grow out after 1-2 weeks. Now today his clip lines look awful and he has random bits longer than others. Should I go over him again or hot oil? Or is it because he will be going from winter to summer coat I’m meant to take him showing on Monday but I don’t know if i dare

Generally speaking I would say that you clipped him too late - summer coat coming through. It also sounds as though you have some cat hairs, which are a pain but they can be clipped off.
Have a light touch clip to deal with the long hairs then a once over with a hot oil cloth. I'd also keep rugged to help the hair to flatten if you are showing imminently.
