This will probably sound like a silly question, but do clipped quarter marks have any effect on the horse?

While they are pretty tacky, I've always wanted to clip something small on my horse along with his usual clip. However as it's for my benefit not his, I've been overthinking it a bit and now I'm unsure. Will a quarter mark like this have any effect on his temperature?

When the previous owner of my daughters gelding came to clip him she left a lovely heart shape on geldings rump (a bit girly for a gelding I know) because owner knew gelding was daughters first pony and was loved....not sure I dare ask this years professional clipper person to do the same thing though. I saw some amazing clipping patterns on line - its like street art on horses - but I don't think Id want to ride a horse with a giraffe pattern or palm trees and flamingos on it!

They have no affect on the horse whatsoever. Personally I think it is nice to have a raised pattern on a clipped horse rather than a shaved pattern on an clipped one. But other than that - its your horse, do what you want! My daughter's first pony has a heart on his rump too!

It will have no effect on the animal at all. Fine if you want to do it but a lot of faffing about for nothing really. (You can tell I don't like patterns cut into hair styles & not a fan of tattoos either) :)
