I have just ordered some clippers and it says they come with medium and fine blades. I have only clipped Baron once since ive had him and borrowed some clippers and just used the blades that were on them already.

So my question in can someone tell me what the difference between medium and fine blades is? And which I should use to clip baron?

He was clipped about 6 weeks ago, has a fineish coat and I will just be going over it doing a full clip. I will be taking his legs off though which I didnt do last time so they are quite fluffy (i have trimmers to do the fiddly bits).

Sorry if I sound a bit dumb, I have never had my own clippers before and dont want to do it all with the medium blade then be told I should have used the fine.

Either will probably do the job. If he had a thicker coat then i'd say just use the mediums. The mediums might not give quite such a tidy finish as the fines though in the case of the horse having a finer coat.

Prefer fine ones they look better after being clipped with fine blades! Although i have to make do with medium ones as i can't afford to buy more and i don't really need fine blades... i'd just prefer them!

i have always used medium blades, but i have a wooly mammoth and i would have to clip him twice to use fine ones - they just wouldn't go through it if i tried to use them straight off. also he lives out so the little extra hair left on with mediums is fine. i dont think he looks any less smart.
