After how many clips would you get the blades sharpened?

Current set since last sharpened have done a second blanket on a thick coat, a first trace clip on again a thick course coat and then a chaser on a fine coat.
I am planning on doing a hunter on the thick coat that has a 'growing out' trace clip.

So would you sharpen before or after this one? (if Im honest Im not sure I can really tell whether they need it, and I wasnt the last one to use them)

Thankyou

I find that a new set of blades does infinately more clips than a sharpened set. After sharpening I get about 3 clips from a set but to be honest my advice to you would be to have another set of blades that are sharp on standby. Nothing is worse than a half clipped horse that you can't finish because your blades are blunt....specially if it's a chestnut as you have a half peach coloured pony!! ;)
