Do you use medium or fine blades?? I use medium atm but don't know if they do a good enough job- even when they are well tightened and sharpened?

What do you mean by 'a good enough job'?? I use medium ones, but I do have a set of fine ones.....they take the hair a bit too short IMO, and as my mare has pink skin she looks odd for a week after using them!!

Sorry, i didn't exaplin myself very well. I mean that compared to other peoples clips they don't always look as well clipped (especially a second clip where the hairs is generally shorter)

Hmmm.......do you mean they are stripy, or that the hair isnt as short? or the lines arent straight?

I dont think it makes much difference tbh. The difference between fine and medium blades is so little that after a week you cant tell anyway!

sorry im not expalining myself very well- just wondered what peoples preference was. They don't do a bad job but the hair just does not seem as short. I will keep going with the Mediums!

Thanks!

I use medium blades on my ID x as she is a real hairy mary and her coat is quite wirey and fine blades go blunt really quickly on her and leave really bad tram lines. If clipping friends TB always use fine blades as does a much neater job and as he has such a fine rabbit fur like coat medium blades leave quite a bit of coat on.

I use fine blades on J as I want the coat really short as he gets lumpy when he sweats, so needs clipping regularly and works better with the fine ones

Cool, well when my medium blades get a bit run down i will probably get a pair of fine as well so i can alternate and see which i prefer!

Fine - always tends to last longer!! I have to clip early as my TB thinks its middle of winter come sept

So end up clipping at least twice!
