I have a set of fine clipper blades for my Hieniger Progress clippers and the other day I took the clippers out of the box to take the blades off the clippers (yes I had left them on

Anyway as i picked the box up the clippers fell out onto my carpet and the end tooth broke off

totally my fault!

Can I still use these blades? they are new and have only been used for one clip. I know its a bit of a random question, I am thinking that I will need to fork out 30 quid for another set

I have used ones with broken teeth a lot!

Just make sure you do it on a horse that is good to clip and be extra careful on the awkward bits as it can be a bit easier to catch and cut the horse with them!!

Is it a tooth on the end or in the middle? If its on one end then its actually not too bad at all, just make sure the broken off bit isn't rough and sharp!

Thanks for your reply Fox Folly, Albert is really good to clip, all the others that I will be doing I will use my med blades for.

It's that end tooth that has gone and I will file down the edge to smoth it a little.

Wish me luck I will have to do him soon he's gone really hairy and was only clipped on 12 Oct

Probably about 30% of the blades I get in for sharpening have an end tooth or two missing. As previously stated, its fine to use, just make sure the edge is not sharp, smooth off with a bit of emery cloth, or ask your sharpening man to do it next re grind!
