Clipper problems

So to add to my clipper collection a few months ago I bought some Liveryman Harmony plus clippers with a wide blade. My lad had very thick feathers that now have to be removed every couple of weeks and his legs kept clipped for medical reasons. I have been doing this every couple of weeks and looked after these clippers well. Today I clipped his legs got the clippers home took the blade off to clean etc but now the metal clip that the blade fits back onto has jammed and will not open. I have sent a email off to were I got them from they were £185 so not cheap. With my luck I just know what is going to happen. My big german clippers are good but to big and heavy for this job and cut a bit too close for what is needed. My horse is very good to clip I just dont seem to be able to get clippers that can cope with his tough hair. So suggestions please you never know the clipper gods may replace them but if they dont any other ideas.

I have the same problem with mine, but happened after they were out of warranty. I have solved it by using a little srew driver under the clip then slotting the blades on. A pain and fiddly but it works.
Hope you get yours sorted because otherwise they are great clippers.

Very carefully stick a knife under it. It will flip back open.

I had these about 10 years ago. When they worked they were fab, but I could've counted on one hand the amount of times that they did. The plastic blade mover on mine broke and no-one can seem to remedy it. Complete waste of money!

So the flap with the two vertical lines should come up to put your blades on, but it is jammed shut despite the knife under it etc will not come up at all looks like (other half comments) that the spring it uses has moved or jammed so hopefully seen as I only purchased them in June the shop will do the decent thing.

Can I ask what you replaced them with, they do the job great I was pleased with them but I only took the blade off to clean the clip was up came to put them back and just jammed shut I have tried to get a knife under but it will not budge just so fed up

I didn’t as such. I have my big Heiniger clippers which do everything but are a bit tricky to get in to small places. I have a cheap pair of dog trimmer off of Amazon/ebay that are not that robust but they do the jaw line and can trim up the leg’s providing the hair’s not too long.

Are you depressing the red lever when trying to raise the flap - it’s a locking safety feature?

If you still can’t get them to work then do return them to the shop.

I’ve had mine for years with no issues and lots of swapping blades about, what a shame that you have had this problem. I have full size Heiniger Xplorers as well, but tend to mostly use the Harmonies as they are so much more conveniently sized and easier to do the tricky bits.

Yeah, you need to flip the blade back to 90 degrees before you take it off. I did this once. I used a butter knife & make sure the release button is pressed, then you should be able to flip it back.
I thought I had really broken mine!

Yes I am depressing the red lever but it does seem a bit loose to me, I also have the big cordless Heiniger trimmers but I just found the liveryman so much better to handle hopefully after the bank holiday the shop will get in touch.

We have tried but the thing is stuck solid hopefully they shop will swap them out as I do like them for the job they are needed for
