I am looking to buy some clippers. However I only have one horse to clip so I don't paticularly want to splash out on something I might only use 2-3 times a year. I saw the Huntmaster Pro clippers on Ebay which were only about £108, but are they any good?
Izzi :D

I love my Lister Neons - I do two with them (well ones only little so one and a half :p ) - I got them secondhand but knew who I bought them from so know how they'd been treated. I've used others over the years but have found the neons to be heavy duty enough to get through yak style hair and light weight enough to be easily used :)

i have hauptner 2000 clippers which work well but getting the tension correct is a real fiddle & so wouldnt have bought them had i known this!
BEWARE of cheap ebay clippers though as i bought a set at around £120 which clipped my horse twice the first winter then when i used them again 12mths later they broke in quite dramatic style! i sent them off to clippersharp to be repaired who told me they wouldnt/couldnt repair them as were not safe to use!! so my cheapy clippers ended up being quite expensive having only completed 2 clips.

I have Liveryman Harmonys, which are very similar to the Lister Libertys, but not quite as heavy duty from what I can tell. I managed to get them direct from the manufacturer for about £180 - so not much more than the cheap ebay clippers. They struggle a bit through thick hair, but other than that they are brilliant, and I do my first clip quite early anyway so it's not a problem.
