so I'm planning on replacing my liveryman harmony and wahl avalon clippers as whilst i love them to bits, and they are brilliant on nervous horses, they are a bit slow to do full hunter clips with, and I'd like to have a bigger, mains powered clipper now that Ron is happy with being clipped (by happy i mean he stands rock still, and tries to pretend it's not happening!, he doesn't move even though he's loose!)

so - clipper recommendations anyone? i'd ideally not want to spend more than £200....
I'm clipping our two about 3 times a year, plus i do about another 4-8 clips for other people.

if you can run to a bit more money, I use a set of Heiniger Deltas on my hairy highland who has a coat like a thick hedge at time of year. They are air cooled which I like, and a stronger motor than some so they really get the job done.

I bought Sure Clip once off ebay second hand for £50 and they are brilliant, just fully clipped a hairy cob at the weekend (for medical reasons) and it sailed through the hair.

With your budget I would have a look at used sets of quality clippers rather than trying to buy a new set for £200 where your choice will be very limited. You should be able to find used sets that have had little use & are almost new within your budget. Start by looking at Ebay & see what they are going for on that site.

Our Wolsey clippers are super. Mains powered and they whip of the coat in seconds. They are loud though, so we use wahl trimmers for round the face and ears.
