Clipper repairs northampton..

Hi all,

I have a pair of liveryman arena clippers that have just stopped clipping, the blades move but it just scuffs the hair without cutting, i have had the blades sharpened and tried different blades but still the same so it is a problem with the clippers.
Any reccomendations for reparis please? im in Northamptonshire.

I'm pretty sure Collins/blue Barn take them in for repairs. Might be worth a call

May sound stupid, but you say you have had the blades sharpened. is that all your blades or just one set? If the machine runs and sounds fast, the blades dont jam or stop moving, I would be more suspicious it is blade related. Although it does depend which Arena you have. The original black Arena and the newer Arena Plus were made with German motors and gave not too much trouble. The Blue Arenas...(Skip in the yard!) never impressed me. I would say 70% of problems where the machine runs but blades dont clip are blade related. Obviously check your tension pin spring and nut turn smoothly and when you put the small cutter blade onto the machine, check its fit over the small rectangular pegs and the "shoe" on top the blade is a snug fit on the drive pin. Who did your blades? As would suggest if done by one place, you either send a set somewhere else or buy a brand new set to check it is not the blades. Any further advice feel free to PM me.
