Hi, just wondering who uses who for servicing clippers? Mine are due for doing and looking for recommendations. I was thinking of using Clippersharp, anyone experienced with them?

Thanks in advance

If they are the ones in Wales I have used them for
servicing and blade sharpening and they have been fine. I get confused with them and Clipper Services.

TheEngineer can help you!! He is your guy to go to with clipping questions.
- Unfortunately TheEngineer left in protest...:

He frequently offered up free valuable advise and has recently got a job at Clippersharp. So, no, I dont have any personal experience of Clippersharp but I know a really helpful, knowledgeable guy that works there.

- No, they are in Devon, you may be thinking of Clippers HG Ltd or Shear Ease Ltd.

Either way... here if you need help!

Hmm might be worth giving Clippersharp another go then. Not sure if it's related or not but I sent them to clippersharp to be serviced, got them back and they uttered a muted 'pop' after one clip and died :rolleyes3: I'm hoping it's a fuse as it was a 'pop' rather than a bang, but would have thought that would be checked at the service?

I am pretty sure it's a capacitor that has blown - common problem. Unfortunately, you can only check they are OK when they are in front of you. You can not guarantee them as they 'go' suddenly, if they look good and test well with a multimeter while in your company that's all you can do really.

Most components have an element of wear in them before they 'go' completely so you can usually prevent problems developing - you just cant do that with a fuse, capacitor, overload switch or suppressor. So, yeh - it should've been checked at the service but that does not mean it's unreasonable for some components to develop a fault soon afterwards.

I'm sure they will throw a capacitor in and apologize for the inconvenience without charging you another service fee.
