Hi,

I have the shopping bug and really need to purchase some new clippers.

Ideally I do not want to spend mega bucks but I do need a set that will cope with the constant clipping and hogging and feather removal of my boy as my old ones were just up to it.

So any cob friendly recomendations??

thanks

I have a pair of Lister Neon Clippers. They were more than enough to clip out my little cob mare, hog and trim her feather.

Think they were around the £250 mark.

I used my beloved Lister Stablemates, think the Neon is the modern replacement.

Cairo has hair like a brillo pad - though now he is kept full haired like a clydesdale should be. The Listers cope easily with him, though I do keep 2 sets of blades so I can swop as they do get hot with the effort to get through his coat.

I have prepared hogged and fully trimmed/clipped cobs with them and they easily did the job.

Ive got the Heiniger Handy, had them five years and only just had to buy new blades! Were about £350 but I got them trade price

Wolseley Swift, they've been around for years, are really hard wearing & reliable. They run pretty quietly aswell & the blades sell for a more reasonable price than many.

Its probably best to speak to a clipper specialist and they will help you chose the best clipper most suited to your needs.
Ditto, the Lister Liberty though, they are the best cordless clipper and are powerful enough to get through legs and hog manes. They are on special offer at the moment from Clippersharp.
