We have just clipped my cobs legs with Liveryman Element trimmers and they coped well after cutting the bulk of the hair off with scissors. We bought these lightweight, low noise trimmers as my horse didn't like her legs done with the heavy clippers but I must admit she still wasn't that keen

I've just bought some Element ones, the heavy duty rechargeable trimmer/clipper ones.

I also have Liveryman Arena Plus. My horse has to be sedated at the moment for clipping anyway. I wanted something smaller for delicate trimming and faces but also am hoping to dessensitse my mare to the clippers and the Arena's are rather noisy.

I've got a set of Lister Meteor trimmers and they are ideal for trimming legs and faces. They are quiet and heavy duty enough to trim the feathers off my cob. When I first had my cob she hated clippers on her legs but I got her used to the Lister ones because they were quiet and light. I think they were about £60. I'd definitely recommend them.
