Can anyone help me with my clippers. I bought some Heiniger clippers about a month ago and they have done around 4 mini clips (desensitising) and they have been fine. I have re tensioned them a few times. Today I went to use them and the blades were sticking so I took all blades apart re cleaned them and put them back on still not working. Decided to try the fine blades as they have never been used and they still weren't clipping! I looked at the head thing in the clippers and they were going wonky everytime I turned them on so not sure if that's the issue but they have never been dropped to my knowledge and are pretty much new. Help please?!?!

Look in the book you get with them it has a page that helps with problems, when you say they are not working do you mean nothing at all or they just not cutting?

At first the blades weren't moving so I took blades off and cleaned etc then put them back together and the blades were moving but they are not cutting! X

I don't have a book with mine. I bought them second hand off eBay but they were only used once previously and looked pretty much brand new.

I have a similar issue with my liveryman, with new blades and recently sharpened blades, I took them in for a service and was told they were fine, went to clip again, still wouldn't cut.

I then drove them to the man that serviced them and turns out the blades were still blunt, despite him sharpening them and the new blades id bought in Robinsons, were also blunt, so she sharpened both again and I tried them, and they worked! luckily I got all of my money back from Robinsons :)

my blades were new too, but they were blunt when I got them! I know it sounds really unlucky, but its worth getting them sharpened first before you decide your clippers are broken!

although buying 2nd hand is always a risk! at least ive had mine since they were born, so I know their history

Most appliances, be they household or motor or IT have manuals on line. Google the name of the clippers and "manual" and see if you can source them. Sounds to me like tension of the blades - have they got plenty of oil on them?

Yup I have done all that's. I will get blades sharpened first and go from there but I do find it odd that even the fine blades wouldn't work and they have never been used. I want to contact them
First or speak to someone that services clippers as they shouldn't be going wrong this new!

Just re oiled both sets of
Blades re tensioned as it said and they still aren't working. I am going to
Your horse live on Sunday and clippers harp are they so going to ask if they will look at them for me. To see if it's something I am doing wrong or if it's the clippers.
I've used them 3 times
Before and tensioned them and they seemed to work
Fine.

Friend has the same problem wth her year old liveryman clippers. Had them serviced, will suggest she gets the blades done elsewhere to see if that works.

I'm still not 100% sure what the issue is with your clippers. Most horse clippers work a similar way. If the tension isn't right then your clippers will not clip the coat. They will move but won't cut. Also if the blades are blunt then it doesn't matter if you haver the tension right or not they still will not cut.

I think that as you have purchased them as used then it would probably be best to have them serviced & get your blades sharpened at the same time. If there is anything wrong with the clippers then the engineer checking them over will be able to tell you. They can also sharpen your blades for you. I have some Wolseley Swift clippers & have had them for 15 years or so. I keep them clean & oiled & they look almost new! Don't believe what the seller told you iunless they can produse proof. Hopefully a service & sharpen ill put all right. ;)

It does sound like the blades are either blunt or a tension problem, I have heiniger clippers and the tension does not have to be that tight if the blades are sharp, what model do you have ? and not that I think your stupid or anything but are you putting the blades on the right way I have seen someone do it before its easily done especially if your new to them and have no book.

It's probably not this but are you clicking them in enough? My Liveryman clippers have a double click lock. You push them on and they click but to actually lock them in place you have to push a little further. If I don't do this with mine they make the motions but don't actually cut.

Check the tension first.

Had this issue with mine and the case was broken. I didn't drop them but I did leave them charging in a precarious position so I'm guessing someone did. I sent them off and the new case was pretty reasonable price-wise!

I have managed to get them to work it was the tension. I had followed the instructions but I had to do them a lot tighter than what was said.
Unless I'm just doing it completely wrong.

I am going to YHL this weekend and getting my blades sharpened plus I have asked if they would show me how to do the tension correctly so hopefully I will know for future! I will get them serviced at the end of the season.
