Clippers?

Lister liberty clippers are great for hairy beasties.I will be getting another blade soon for feathers as she blunts mine with medium and needs coarse but they work really well. 3 of us on our yard use them and all the horses are different they work just as well on my fine tb as well.

I've got a pair of Liverymans, model is the Arena.

Verdict - Very Good.

Great for thick coats, cobs , heavy feather/hogging mane etc, my previous cob even had a thick coat in summer so you can imadgine what he looked like in winter. Helps which blades you put on too. I bought them brand new years and years ago, were around £250.00 but thats what you need to pay for some medium to heavy weight clippers. Plus always make sure your blades are sharp, you'll never get a good clip through a thick coat if you've used them a few times anyway.
If I was you I'd save up for a new pair, in the meantime pay for someone (expert) to clip your horse, because it will be cheaper than buying a load of clippers that will never do the job. If you buying second hand...just remember a person will never sell a good pair of clippers!!

I wouldnt buy clippers from Ebay if I were you. You have been stung once, and the same could happen again. If anything goes wrong you would have no comeback. If you buy from a clipper specialist, the clippers will have 12 months warranty and they offer the best advise.

Ditto cellie regarding the Lister Libertys. They are the best rechargable clippers on the market. Got mine from Clippersharp. If you give them a call they will advise you.

I've personally not heard of these. I have Lister showman clippers with battery pack. We have had these clippers for donkeys years - and they are brilliant - well worth the money that they are.

Do all the horses and all the dogs with them!! I have found that I can usually do at least 2 full clips on a battery charge - plus a couple of dogs!!

i think the liberty is the new name for the old showman.they just made the body a bit smaller.

if you ring listers they are really helpful and have parts for all their stuff.
