Hi! Me and two other ladies at the yard want to buy clippers to share. All three ponies are hairy native cobs. We thinking of masterclip hunters or hg roamers. I’m not big fan of cordless things due to them loose power after while (like all my cordless vacuums 🤣)but I know they are convenient. There will be lots of clipping as all three ponies are clipped all year around and in winter they (at least mine) require 4 if not 5 clipping as he’s in full work and for weight control purposes (extreme good doer)
We do have power at the yard.
Do any of you that owns hg roamer found that they loose battery power after while?
Or maybe recommend something different to masterclip? Budget is £300
Thank you

I have masterclip clippers, they are excellent- I find the power is pretty good although I have a spare battery. If you have power at the yard I'd say you should be fine with them & a spare battery pack, as you can always charge one battery while using the other. They will do a blanket clip easily on just one batteries' charge, I've needed the spare when clipping more than one horse though.

I have the roamers. Battery lasts ages and I got a spare when I ordered. I’ve never run out of power when doing one big ID really slowly.

I've always had corded clippers I clipped for extra money years ago for that I used Heiniger progress clippers and I still have them they are nearly 20 years old, still going strong and I find them far superior over some others I have used over the years.

I will say they do cheap imitation blades for most clippers now and they are rubbish always buy the proper branded blades.

Does anyone use Heiniger cordless clippers? Looking to replace my - now corded Lister Liberty clippers with some cordless ones. The Xplorer would obviously do the job and hopefully would last longer than the battery in the Listers, but they felt quite heavy to me. Would the Saphir work on a hairy cob with the new wider blades or what are the alternatives. As well as 15 hh hairy beast l’ve also a couple of smaller more nervous ponies to do.
