Hi, I am going to clip this week. I have a young green TB who sweats a lot under the numnah and sometimes on her neck.

She works 6 days a week and it isn't hard work, but enough to make her sweat everyday (apart from a short hack).

I am thinking a full clip as this is where she sweats the most, so to me leaving the saddle area unclipped is not productive. A trace would be good, but I kind of dont see the point in clipping if the saddle area is the only real area of sweat. She comes out steaming.

My friends think I am mean by full clip, but she has plenty of rugs to keep the little monkey warm.

Your advice is very welcome. Thanks

if it isn't hard work then tbh I see no reason to full clip, you will just make life harder for yourself cos tb's are hard enough to keep weight on anyway!!
I have had tbs fr years and unless eventing/racing they only have sml clip. I have one of mine which used to sweat all over when he had full coat if you just do high trace clip, blanket clip or hybrid clip of your own invention as I have done in past, this will keep them cool enough, remember to try and pick a syle which compliments/enhances your shape and frame. good luck with your boy..happy clipping!:D

im a fan of full and hunter clips i think they look smart

as long as u have plenty of rugs and are prepared to feed extra if your neddy needs it then shouldnt be a prob

i tend to try and leave legs and saddle patch on bronte as i like to hunt her and gives her a bit of protection against brambles (plus she has feathers) and the saddle rubbing but a full clip does look very smart
