Hi all just after some feed back, I freelance and offer clipping services, most people I clip for know how to clip but do not have clippers themselves. I was just wondering if you was able to hire clippers for a fee would you rather do it yourself for a small hire free or would you just pay the extra and have someone do it for you? I am personally insured and clippers are all service and checked by an electrician, would my insurance cover leasing them out if not what type of insurance would I need? Just an idea, any feed back welcome thanks :)

I do the same as you and would not hire my clippers out under any circumstances ever. You wouldn't believe the things I've seen people do to clippers they have "borrowed" off friends, and if your clippers are bust you are stuck! The ones I have physically seen drop clippers, have horses stand on them, and had them plugged into an extension cable that was sat in a puddle, never said a word when they handed them back to the owners either.

Its with all things expensive, I wouldn't let anyone touch them if you didn't have insurance to rent out. If I had heavy duty clippers (which I'm guessing you do) there is no way whatsoever I would rent them to anyone. Sounds stupid but I'd lend them free to someone I know but if someone has paid for the pleasure of using your clippers they will probably think they can do what they want with them as they're paid for, if they were lent free to a friend there's half a chance they'd appreciate it and look after them.
People do stupid things, if I loaned a pair out, I'd take it apart after every loan to check them inside out, doesn't seem worth the hassle from your point of view!
