Hi everyone, my horse is going to be having intradermal skin tests soon for ongoing allergy problems. I know that the area will need clipping before but I just wondered if anyone else's horse has had these and were they just clipped on the day of the tests or did they need doing on an earlier day? I read one article that said that to avoid clipper rashes clipping should be carried out a day or two before. I am waiting for my vet to call me so will ask her as well but was just interested to know what other people had done. My horse will need sedating for clipping and then obviously the tests so it would be easier to do it on the same day but not if this will affect the results! She doesn't get any rashes usually from clipping but was more itchy after her last clip initially and I wondered if this could have been the clipper oil and this could perhaps cause problems if done too near the tests. Anyway just thought I'd ask what other people had done!
Thank you
