It's that time of the year, when I end up with so much hair down my top I end up throwing my clothes in the bin! What do you recommend that will stop the clippings from going through my clothes? I've tried boiler suits and paper haz-mat suits, any other suggestions?

I wear waterproof trousers and an old wax coat but you still get it in your clothes, B & Q do the throw away boiler suits they are pretty good but no matter what you wear you will still get hair everywhere.

I once got an abcess on my boob which turned out to be caused by a clipped horse hair down my bra . If your horse doesn't mind the rustling then a black bin bag over a kagoul type jacket is not only pretty effective but stylish too ! And you lose half a stone in sweat during the process . What's not to love ? I've actually wondered how well my swimming wetsuit would fare !

Waterproof trousers over wellies. Waterproof Coat (no fill - just a cheap plasticy waterproof). Zipped right up, tied around neck, cap on, hood up, elastic bands/hairbands over sleeves.

The only bit of skin left showing is your eyes, nose and mouth (which are shielded by the cap) and your hands.

I can clip four like this, strip off the waterproofs, and only need wash my face and hands before carrying on with my day. Fortunately, I'm not a big sweater - because it doesn't breathe. But you don't get any hair down your clothes - so I'll take looking like a beetroot :)

Clipit Grooming Suit.
No longer do I hurriedly turn clipped pony out before racing home to shower before I itch all my skin off.
Now, I just serenely peel the suit off, pop it in the bag, and continue with my yard activities.
Well worth a money imo!

I just wear my shiniest running cothes in the most glossy, shiny materials I can find. The hair brushes off and I get the rest with a baby wipe. I cannot clip if I am overdressed. I am an enthusiastic clipper who likes to leap around a bit!

A cheap plastic boiler suit, a face mask and a sacrificed headband.

Brush yourself off, with a body brush, every time you brush horse/oil clippers.

I was wearing face masks before it was in fashion after a 4 hour nose bleed post clipping from a hair up there!

Genuinely haven’t had this issue when clipping a very hairy native with xplorers…. I wear ski trousers, waterproof coat and a hat. Main issue I find is make sure you double cleanse your face after clipping as I’m always horrified at the dirt that comes off on the cotton wool pad!

I put clippers onto 13 different horses today. 3x bib clips and 2 half clips (tidy ups after teaching 2 left handed lads how to clip) and 9 full clips. I can see hair on my eye balls!

I do wear decent boots, long plastic waterproof trousers, an old cycling jacket that does up tight around my neck and has good elastic wrists, a buff up over my nose held up by my ears and hair which is in a bun and a baseball cap. Only my hands and eyes are on show. And I still get hair in places no horse hair should ever be!

I got a horse hair stuck in one of my nipples one year. Ee by gum that was sore when you moved the wrong way and it stabbed into my bra! Took 3 days to get the bugger out!

I have a dedicated set of clipping clothes (t shirt, joggers and thin waterproof jacket) this also includes a pair of knickers and socks!

They live with the clippers in a bag and are washed on their own after each use

I don't wear a bra when clipping!

I don't wear a bra either! And I stand at the back door and strip then chuck my clothes in the bin or washing machine depending on how bad they are, the waterproof trousers over the country boots do stop your bottom half getting too bad, the top half is a different story and I have to pull the clipped hair out of my eyelash extensions after I clip.

I wish I could go bra-less, but I don't want to frighten the others on the yard!
