Anyone any handy hints for doing this? I tried to clip some stars onto a trace clip (so the stars were cut out) but his coat is so long it just looked a mess, I couldnt get the clippers into the design.

Any ideas how to do this?

I decided to do a full clip first and then a few weeks later I could do a trace/blanket etc when there'd been some regrowth and have a shorter coat to clip designs into.

If your Shetland has a coat as thick as mine, I don't think it's going to work very well full stop.

It will work, but maybe not on the first clip. I think the remaining hair will be too long and it will affect the lines of the stars. They are yaks aren't they?

His coat isnt too long atm, as he was only clipped a few weeks ago, will have to have another shot at it (clipping a design that is, not the pony

clip into the hair.

This is the reason I don't sell the 'clip in' ones any more.

The edges blur very quickly also with the 'clip in' designs

All mine with the exception of the stars are clip around, but I design them so they can be clipped into a long coat by making the design itself long hair, and adding a perimeter so the design stands like an island in a lake if this makes sense

whatever you do, you need to acquire (or make your own) template to lay on the area and follow its edges.

Very few people out there can do the Picasso thing with a pair of clippers (including me)

Why not try and clip the design in to the existing clipped area if you don't want to touch the long blanket area ?

I might just do that. I've decided to take off his coat from stifle to gullet (bely etc) so might pop some stars around his chest.

How long does delivery take?

The brushing ones take a couple of days to make up as they are done on a different machine and computer - I've got to set up for them, but the clipping ones are usually next day despatch. I'll be working tomorrow to catch up, so I'd add it to the list if I got an order for them, and I aim to put them in the post the following morning. All go 1st class !
