clipping for a cooler pony?

hi i have an 30 yr who doesn't have cushins, was thinking of a trace clip as he is finding the weather a bit hot

any ideas or just keep giving him a shower in the middle of the day?

I clipped my mare today. She is overheating when being worked as she has a very thick double cob coat.
If it will make your boy more comfortable then I would clip him.

My cob is clipped all year round, even his summer coat would put most winter coats to shame! I say clip!
