Clipping for the first time - hints and tips please

I'm planning to trace clip my cob and need some hints and tips as ive not done it alone before and only did it a few times years ago with someone watching
 
No, not a bad idea at all. You say you have clipped before with somebody watching, so the obvious next step is to do it without somebody watching. You are exactly right when you say you have to start somewhere - it won't be very good first time but it never it!
Do a rough clip to the right area one day, then you tidy it up the next day. I find when I clip for ages and then try to tidy the clip on the same day it never works - you need a sense of perspective, even if it is only one day later, I find it is a lot easier to see where to tidy it up then.

That wont happen, there not like bic razors, the blades dont get that close to the skin!

I was shown to clip my lines out first if that helps. Did my first clip in 8 years in Dec

bout to do my second but its cheating the lines are already there.
