Hi all,
I'm clipping Jasper for the first time tomorrow - the yard staff have always done him before. I know he's good to do, but if anyone would like to wish me luck or share any tips I'd be grateful! x
 
Don't clip in a windy gale outside. Wear overalls or a boiiler suit if you have one- stops the hair going down the trousers! But most important take your time, have a break in the middle if you need to.
Good luck. I always feel very pleased with myself when I've finnished.

I'm doing mine for the first time later on this month, I have clipped before but not much and not for years - very worried about what an idiot I will make her look!
But I have my chalk ready and if it all goes wrong I shall lop the lot off!

I always have someone to do mine, at least for the first winter clip, coz with my old boy I did it myself with a hired set of clippers which were absolute ****, as useless as a nun in a punch-up, and he ended up looking awful coz I only managed to do a bit of him and he just looked like an RSPCA rescue case, poor lad.

I think a lot depends on the clippers. My friend who clipped him for me last week used Liveryman which did the job very well. I've just bought a set at a weekend promo at our local tack shop. Got them with 15% discount, so well worth having. Now I gotta get clipping the blighter ...............tho' will probably chicken out and phone friend to do it yet again.
 
Get someone who knows what there doing keeping an eye on you as you may need help when it comes to lines etc.

Pinch the skin so it is stretched or you will clip his wrinkles, if that makes sense? And make sure your blades are sharp and oiled well :)
