i have wolsley swifts which were fab last year. I sent them away for servicing and blades to get done and just got them back. Ive clipped many horses in the past so know what im doing , or thought i did
i spent so long trying to get the tension right so they would actually cut the coat that i almost gave up!! thinking they were faulty, then suddenly they glided through the coat as they always have.
and that wasnt as as a result of adjustment to the tensioner either
Only for 2 mins later for them to stop cutting it again
When I say stop cutting i mean the blades are moving as they should, but just not cutting the coat. I ended up getting them to work by blowing them after every 6 inches or so of coat clipped, to completely free them of loose hair. Ive never had to do this before and clipping took ages!!
That said, it was the first clip of the year of my Sec D who had a decent amount of coat and I have to admit i hadnt bathed her first but she was very clean as she is rugged and was groomed prior. Ive never had this problem, even clipping my shetland last year they just.... worked!
