Definitely clip. I clip because I hate hairy bog ponies but own a shetland and welsh cob!?! :-( Not the best combination haha clipping is easier for me as they dry quicker with less hair and they're not as itchy either x
Yes clip, he will be a lot happier for it - my cob certainly is luckily he is a different pony with beginners on him but the bucks I was getting today were huge!
I would do what every you think is best. I clipped the shetland earlier, I could've done a bib clip but decided just to whip the whole lot off as it makes life easier! Less hair for mud to stick too and will cool down alot faster too! He has plenty rugs to choose from which will vary depending on which paddock he's in because one has on shelter at all. In a couple of weeks he'll be stabled at night too so being completely naked shouldn't bother him at all x
If you want an easier to clean pony I would take off under its neck, as a bib and then go up to behind its ears clipping off from there down the bottom half of head, this will give a smarter appearance without the pony getting cold and possibly too fresh.
