OK so a pulled tail is preferable to clipping the tail so I thought, but after getting a bit clipper happy this afternoon my horse now has a clipped tail

.

Does anyone else do this?

Usually I would pull but I let it get quite messy and thought I would tidy it with the clippers, but it ended properly clipped. Neat enough alright but still

carnt glue it back on so

Plus she carries her tail quite high so its gonna be obvious.

It will grow back my previous mare had to have her tail clipped due to an injury on her dock that got infected and the vet gave her a real baldy. We all said she had had a brazilian.

It did grow back pretty quickly and I just kept it tidy while it was growing.

i personally hate clipped tails i use a tail rake, maybe when it starts to grow back use one or scissors to trim, but dont worry it WILL grow back

I think clipped tails look like bog brushes - sorry!

Not at first but they are when growing out as it is almost impossible then to pull properly. If some-one asks me to pull a tail, I am normally very happy to oblige (FOC) but I will not go near a previously clipped tail.
Pulled, every time, lazy people clip.

Defo pulling is the best, you can almost get same look with tail rake (if you have one that really can't cope with pulling) and clipping is IMHO TOTALLY UCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My horse is on a very old school traditional hunting yard and my YO looked horrified when I pulled out my trimmers to do my new horses tail,
I dont really like pulled tails but she already had one so keeping it as it is.

Anyway after I had finished he couldnt believe the results he thought it looked fantastic (my head is swelling now) I did also use a tail rake (FAB things) and use guards on the trimmers
Now every one on the yard wants me to do their horses.
I wouldnt do it any other way.

I think if you are carefull enough and know how a pulled tail should look like then its ok.

A friend was using a scissors and it looked horrendous all steps and wedges in it.

So I'm lazy am I?

As previously stated I would usually pull but curiosity got the better of me the other day. I should get a picture of my horse up then I confidently think it would be hard for most people to critique her turn out (excluding the tail

Just thought I would post to see if anyone else has made the same mistake.

After looking at it for the last few days its actually not as bad as I thought.
