How many of you clip your doggie yourself?

Wondering whether to give it a go to save some money

I did my first 'clip' a month or two ago as the dog is now too old to go to the poodle parlour. I just used safety scissors for dog grooming with a rounded end (bought on ebay) together with a dog comb.

She doesn't look too bad, and it certainly keeps her cooler. Just don't expect a professional trim first time. I would have done it years ago if I'd realised how easy a 'pet' trim is. A show clip would be something different.

I do, as the only time Zak went to the parlour he came back with two cuts and fleas!!!!!!!

When I put the effort in he looks like a proper schnauzer, when I dont he gets a short back and sides and looks like a jack russell!!!!
