My OH bought me a brand new pair of wolseley clippers with medium blades, so i happily clipped donovan last monday. This wednesday (so 9 daysafter clipping) his hair is growing back, we drove for around 45 minutes, not strenuous, but working, and he was absolutely dripping. I dont mean just a little sweaty, but sweat dripping off his tummy. We have a comp this sunday, do you think I should clip again, with finer blades?

I have the same problem, how has been on other days? was it particularly warm. Has he got a full clip out?

I have a trace with hind quarters left on (racehorse clip) on mine at the moment and he is coming in from the field hot and bothered and only has a light wieght 100g rug on.

Sorry not much use really but if he is good to clip and you have the time to do it before sunday it certainly cant do any harm.

I've got fine and medium blades and don't particularly notice that much difference other than its a but easier to get the mediums through a thick coat. But if it's grown back already if redo. But seems a surprise to have grown back so quickly

If warm I'd leave naked??? Mines out naked at the mo with a blanket and is 28. But she's a very warm horse. You know when it's too warm for a rug as she will stamp her feet as you put it on

kerrieberry2, the rugging is no issue, its just were he was getting so so sweaty when worked I am having an issue with.

I clipped my horse a month ago and you wouldn't know it now.. his coat is grown in again and i made sure to rug him well to try and keep him warm and stop it growing back. I did clip earlier than usual though but i had a competition and he was sweating.. i am having to clip again tomorrow as hes hot and sweaty again.. i'm hoping that i won't have to do it again for a long while! I hate clipping.. :(
