I was going to do a high Irish clip on mine now and then possibly whip it all off later on.I was always told to not clip after January but it seems as though this is not true going from posts on here?

Only if you are not showing anything other than grey in early spring was the old tradition, otherwise clip all yr round if you want.

I progress mine in autumn from bib, bib and belly, half chaser to half blanket, last one done 2 weeks ago. Final clip can wait till end January when I'll get the lot off except legs and front of head, I'll up the rugs then for a month to keep back early growth, if weather allows.

he’s bib clipped atm but his work has been upped and it won’t hurt him to use some extra calories to keep warm (although in this weather that isn’t a consideration!) Last year his chaser clip lines took ages to go so would also like to avoid that if possible-even though not showing it annoys me.

That's why I take half head, all the front to the saddle and then curve down & round the bottom of saddle to the point of stifle. Meant B had 4 days the week before xmas without rug, but copes just fine with brisk 2 hr jollies hacking.
I call it an Irish chaser lol.
