right do you guys think its absolutely nessecary to clip a 'working happy hacker'? i.e doing work every day (although i am mainly a fair weather rider!!! lol) but generally schooling or hacking with the odd bit of jumping -we dont compete. she can get quite hot sometimes but generally feels the chill in winter. what do you think?? plus shes gonna be a nightmare to clip lol

I think if she does sweat when working then go ahead. Pehaps a trace clip or something. I would'nt go all out if i was just hacking. I suppose it depends aswell where she is sweating!!

The first year I had my hairy monster I didn't clip but the 2nd year I did. He lives out and sweats quite bad during the autumn and spring so thats why I decided to clip along with the fact that I didn't want to get the winter coat out. We coped exceptionally well clipped last winter. It was great and the winter grooming was so much easier!!! I would recommend it.

yeah i could do that, i think. Fattie... sedation is needed for almost everything in her world lol!!! although she is a brave soul but highly strung lol.

As long as you have the time to cool off properly after the ride and make sure shes dried off and brushed off before you go , then no it's far better not to clip.
