So ive just had my surface put down (excited) but not used it yet as im being good and waiting for the fencing to be done!

Anyway, anyone got this surface from new? At the moment it seems quite soft and looks like it might get deep? I imagine when its settled and rolled alot it wont give this impression?

Ive seen them before and they are quite firm surfaces.

The builders did mix the quite well so I am worried it may be too mixed rather than just being mixed into the top? Not sure! We followed the instructions exactly though and my builders have done similar surfaces before!

Any help would be welcomed :)
 
You need to do a raindance:eek: I think that until there has been plenty of water on it to help it bed down it will be deep and should not really be ridden on.
 
I was at a livery yard that had this put down. We all rode on it the first night just because it looked nice :p but we only walked, I don't think we were properly allowed to ride on it for a week or so til it had settled and people walk/jumped on it to help it do that. I'll try and find some photos of it the first night it was down if you like?

yes please :) I can put some pictures up of mine too so far to compare. I dont sink in it or anything but I am used to waxed surfaces! Its more compact than it was last week :)

I have it and LOVE it!

As long as you did exactly what the DVD showed you and you've used the correct sand you'll be fine. I'm guessing your sand has only just gone down too? If so, be patient as it takes a while to settle. Just roll it, let it rain quite a few times on it and it'll be fine.
 
We had this put down in the summer.
It needs to be kept wet other wise it creaps back to the surface. In summer you will need to water it.
In winter it has come into its own. It is fantastic. We hardly ever have to rake the arena and horses glide over the top day after day instead of going deep. The wetter it gets the better.
In summer we decided to rotivate it back in every 2 months. But even when it comes out you end up riding on a carpet which looks funny but is still better than deep sand.

Hey glad to see more pics looks about the same as mine! I will keep wetting and rolling it :) i decided if after 6 months is too deep ill get more fibre mixed in. Glad to see all the positive comments! Makes me more excited to use it! Think rain is forecast tomorrow! Yay (first time ive ever said that!)
